Now that everyone knows of the existence of the CONCERNED CITIZENS FOR MOTORCYCLE SAFETY (CCMS) and the intent to rally
in November ... We want to first and foremost THANK everyone for helping us to spread the word about the upcoming Rally!
We also want to inform the community that multiple dates have been reserved for us however we need to acquire at least
300 signatures/names to confirm the exact date for the RALLY. We will be campaigning for signatures and/or club confirmations
by online Pledges To Participate, hard copy Pledges To Participate, Telephone Notifications and/or Email Notifications. In
addition, we are presently preparing a MYSPACE page to keep the community informed as well as a means for Pledging to Participate.

WE, Concerned Citizens for Motorcycle Safety (CCMS), HAVE SECURED A PERMIT TO RALLY AT CITY HALL REGARDING MOTORCYCLE
SAFETY. THIS WILL HAPPEN IN NOVEMBER.
"This Promotes the National Agenda for Motorcycle Safety which addresses issues of Police Harassment of Motorcyclists."
So, after all the "TALK" about it...Let's Finally "Be About It"! This isn't about nothing else except
"US" Motorcyclists.

Below is a brief and quick blurb of the meeting held with highway police and community affairs.
Before you read on I would like to ask everyone to please email me a brief testimony of incidents that you were either
a victim, participant or witness please be as clear and provide detailed information such as: Date, time location reasons
for stopping and who stopped you was it highway, a regular patrol car, an unmarked car and was it a road block - these details
are very vital to our case please stick to the details get these emails to me as soon as possible as we are now taking this
a step further and provide documented proof also if you received summons please state how many for what and did you fight
and beat any.

What really happened 10/20/08?
What really was the point?
Where were the answers?
By all accounts/standards we made our case!!!
We have conducted two meetings
1st to make our claims known
2nd to hear some answers and thoughts
Well we know our answer already
What we want is for NYPD to stop their current attack on motorcyclist!!!
Our meetings have established a visual & vocal presence to claims of what we feel constitutes NYPD harassment, intimidation,
and financial extortion.
We have exhausted every ones time describing and detailing incidents, and we are now faced with the daunting task of creating
the hard copy/log of past and ongoing claims.
-Nancy will be reaching out to each and everyone to help capture every ones claim in written form
Our meeting was recorded to help with the transcription process.
Basically there were 8 questions, let's call them the big 8:
We have to breakout the detailed questions asked from the floor as it relates to the big 8. We also have to breakdown responses
from NYPD as it relates to the big 8 Yes they did give responses….we just didn't agree with them. When you pair them
to our Big 8 the picture becomes clear.
What testimonies (some could be consider gripes), and citied incidents will be used as audio blurbs. We need written statements.
Again Nancy will breakdown how to write them & collect them
We will create a statement of position that summarizes our frustration and willingness to work with NYPD to help them meet
NYC motorcycle safety GOALS-OBJECTIVE-STRATEGIES-TATICS. However we feel that NYPD is creating a smoke screen relative to
targeting motorcyclist.
We will take pages from the US Department of Transportation's (NHTSA) National Agenda for Motorcycle Safety as our starting
& talking points. Here's the link to the electronic on-line version.
I urge all who want to be spokespersons to read…live…dream it. Remember a good argument is a knowledgeable argument.
This hard documents will serve as our formal paper trail of our efforts to work with the agency that has decided to WAGE WAR
or Issue a ZERO TOLERANCE ideology when were are fully open to anything that would SAVE LIVES, HELP US RIDE SAFER, REDUCE
ACCIDENTS and INJURIES.
It will also document future accounts, meetings and serve as our talking points when we reach out to enlist support from other
organizations & interested parties to help us reach an ACCEPTABLE RESOLUTION FOR ALL
Time is of the essence right now…….
NYPD will be sharing their version our meetings with 1PP Command. NYPD attendees will be submitting reports conveying what
we said, what they said, what was important and how critical our claims are. As you can guess their version will differ from
ours, so let's go on the record ALSO!!!!
We aren't going to leave anything to chance. We aren't putting anything past them. Our hard document needs to hit Commissioner
Kelly, Strategic Initiatives: Michael J. Farrell, Cheifs: Zeigler Giannelli & Scagnelli by this Friday, October 24, 2008.
Any delay with forwarding a hard document gives them the opportunity to say we were blowing smoke up their….. and prolong
our current conditions.
I urge you to stay engaged. Know this is a small battle, there is a huge disconnect within NYPD, there is a lack of training,
and it has become our everyday problem. With our riding season coming to a close now is our time to untied and fight!!!
The WAR they started WE WILL WIN. Just not OVERNIGHT!!!!
