Council member John Liu removed his name from intro 416 A - this is a giant step in our favor in opposing this bill --- let's make sure we send him our thank you and a request. It is very important we let him know how much we as a riding community appreciate his coming forward and supporting us.

NYC motorcyclists are mobilizing and planning for action in light of the recent attempts by the New York City Council to pass a bill, Intro 416A, that will adversely effect motorcyclists in NYC and will eventually effect riders from the state of New York and beyond (NJ, CT, PA, etc).

This is a collective effort by and for all riders - sportsbikes, dirtbikes, cruisers, Harley's, sport touring, iron butts, track racers, stunters, motorcycle clubs, independents, AMA members, ABATE members, white, black, hispanic, asian.

As a part of our Plan of Action we have created a FIELD HEADQUARTERS.  We will be opening SATELLITE FIELD OFFICES throughout the five boroughs of NYC.  All resources will be at the Field Headquarters, which consists of toolkits, latest press releases, trained staff, available volunteers for dispatch, 20 minute training sessions, phone lines, faxes, internet access, drop-off's and pick-up's, staging. Satellite Field Offices will have most, if not all, of the same resource material.  What they do not have will be handled in coordination with the Field Headquarters.

We have set up two days to get the information to our fellow motorcyclists...please come, get the resources, get the training and PUT IT TO ACTION.  There will be an overview of the current situation and our plan of action, tutoring session on what they need to do and how they go about it, 1 on 1 training and group training, time line for tool kit, assistance with filling out petitions, scripts provided for calling local council people, name and telephone numbers of their council people.

Sunday will encompass all of the above.

Monday will be a short version of Sunday's informational session.  We are attempting to have elected officials present for Monday's session.

They are flip flopping back and forth regarding the bill coming up for a vote on Thursday, December 18th. Unfortunately City Council has fast tracked and deferred this bill within several hours last Friday.  We must be prepared to rally on short notice...

Please understand our Plan of Action is continually developing, it is not limited to what has been stated thus far.  As a community, we have too many minds and too much passion to be limited in ways of action.  Please come out and get information, find where your expertise can be best utilized and prepare to fight the good fight...
